Interview with Rodo Jarrin Bolanti

Tell us a little about yourself?

My name is Rodo Jarrin Bolanti and I have been a shamanic practitioner for over 30 years.

I first started reading and practicing techniques from Carlos Castaneda's books. Since then I have tried many alternative paths as a spiritual seeker, such as spontaneous astral journeys, clearings, energy healings, crystal healings, family constellations, and life coaching. All of this helped me learn more about myself and understand more about the path to follow.

How did you start following a shamanic path?

My search ended the day I felt the call of shamanic practice with total clarity.

This happened after a talk with a Kuraq Akulleqs (this is how the Q'eros call their shamans of the council of elders), walking under the stars in the Sacred Valley in Peru on the slope of the Apu Chicon (Apu means sacred mountain), which is my tutelary Apu. In that instant I was able to become one with the nature of the place. A total clarity of the path that I had to walk through unfolds: shamanism ...

Since then I have followed two very well-defined currents:

  • The Sacred Andean Tradition in Peru and Bolivia, which is a culture-specific shamanic path.

  • Core shamanism as developed by the American anthropologist Michael Harner at the Foundation for Shamanic Studies, which is a transcultural shamanic practice.

From these practices I learned to take shamanic journeys to other realities where I contacted Teaching Spirits and Power Animals, as well as learning to work and do healing using a spiritual connection with the elements (Water, Fire, Air, and Earth), sacred plants like the Wachuma (San Pedro in quechua language), powerful tools like the Chakana (the Southern Cross) to learn how to walk your path, ceremonies like the “despachos” (offering ritual to the Pachamama).

My purpose today is to be able to transmit all these teachings to those who are interested, since shamanism I believe is a practice that can help us in our daily work.

What does your practice look like?

In my current practice I collaboratively work with the internal processes and dynamics of individuals and groups.

I also transmit and use techniques of ancestral knowledge to help participants engage with their personal power to be more happy and complete in their lives.

In this work I share how to take shamanic journeys, how to do shamanic meditations with the elements, and how to get valuable information from Spirits that is relevant to our daily life in ordinary reality.

Through the workshops I offer on Practical Shamanism for Everyday Life, I help participants realize that the course of their life at each moment results from decisions that involve both ordinary and non-ordinary realities. Both work in an infinite dance together feeding one another. The sum of both makes up every moment of our life.

What would you like to work on in the future?

Today I am doing research on the relationship of the spiritual worlds with the life timeline of each one of us. I seek to answer the question of how we can align the spiritual world with our life cycle, recognizing what we have experienced and taking clear note of the finiteness according to our personal expectation of our lifetime on earth.

What is your mission and what sort of legacy do you want to leave?

My mission in this life is to be able to be a little happier every day in addition to helping to awaken as many people as possible to their personal power and their conscience.
